Next Free Dress Friday: October 31st (K-12)
Dear Community Members,
We are off to an exciting new school year! We have so many exciting things happening in Brewster schools (lunch additions, enhanced dress code, new curriculum, etc.) I don’t have enough space to write them all down! The new enhanced dress code has begun setting a positive tone throughout the district and community. Almost 100% in dress code the first day! I cannot thank the Kiwanis and Masons other community members who made donations for the new kindergarten through twelfth grade t – shirts that proudly read, “We are Brewster Bears! Focus, Determination, Pride!” And to be honest, it is very exciting to see our students dressed for success and ready to learn from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. I invite you to visit Brewster schools to truly see this amazing sight!
I cannot thank the community, students, parents, staff, and school board enough for their continued support. For those of you who have been a bit leary, to say the least, about the new dress code, thank you for giving it a chance. I truly believe this new dress code is worth it because of the challenges the district has faced in the past as well as challenges we will have in the future!
I’ve heard some describe our recent improvements throughout the district as a “transformation.” I am not sure I would go that far, but I do know that we the district team (certified, classified, and administration) are dedicated to listening to our patrons and providing a high quality education for all children.
That’s it for now. We are working hard for you!
Aaron Chavez, Superintendent
Brewster School District
